Patch 543 needs to be installed by 2/13/2012 and some sites have encountered a problem with iMedConsent. Patch 594 addresses this problem. This patch will correct the problem with patch XU*8*543 breaking the iMedConsent application. It adds a parameter to the new code that was introduced with patch 543. This patch should be installed after patch 543 is installed. All sites, please follow these instructions below: 1. Make sure patch XU*8*543 is installed (see Installation below) 2. Install patch XU*8*594 3. Check if iMedConsent still works, if it works, you are done! Please proceed with installation of other released XU patches. 4. If iMedConsent DOES NOT work Set the parameter XU594 to YES (see examples below) a. This can be done from General Parameter Tools menu under the CPRS Configuration (IRM) menu b. This can also be done by running the routine XPAREDIT 6. Make sure that iMedConsent works now, and you are done. Please proceed with installation of other released XU patches. This patch does not alter or modify any VistA Blood Bank software design safeguards or safety critical elements functions. RISK ANALYSIS: Changes made by patch XU*8*594 have no effect on Blood Bank software functionality, therefore RISK is none. Installation Instructions ========================= This patch should be installed during nonpeak time. Allow KIDS to inhibit new sign-ons. TaskMan does *not* need to be stopped or put in a wait state. Installation should take less than a minute. 1. Use the 'INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE' option on the PackMan menu. This option will load the KIDS package onto your system. 2. The patch has now been loaded into a transport global on your system. You now need to use KIDS to install the transport global. 3.
