RISK ANALYSIS: Changes made by patch XU*8*738 have no adverse effect on Blood Bank software functionality, therefore RISK is none. Defect Tracking System Ticket(s) & Overview: -------------------------------------------- 1. Problem: INC12013926 KIDS Update Routine File option doesn't allow routine names larger than 8 characters. Resolution: Change XPDR, replace '8' with '16' in DIR(0) variable. 2. Problem: INC11413978 KIDS Verify Checksums in Transport Global option doesn't format routine names over 8 characters correctly. Resolution: Change XPDDCS, replace '?10' with '?18' in write statements. 3. Problem: INC13365966 KIDS Backup a Transport Global option gets a if file contains data and Screen to Select Data contains a new routine. Resolution: Change XPDIB to not backup data in files. 4. Problem: INC11866754 KIDS Backup a Transport Global option doesn't support Multi-Packages. Resolution: Change XPDIB,XPDT,XPDTP to support multi-package backups. 5. Problem: INC11414119 If on Windows and the PRIMARY HFS DIRECTORY field (#320) in the Kernel System Parameters file (#8989.3) does not have a valid entry, then $$DEFDIR^%ZISH will get a frame stack error. Patch Installation: Pre-Installation Instructions: ------------------------------ This patch may be installed with users on the system although it is recommended that it be installed during non-peak hours to minimize potential disruption to users. Then select the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option to load the build. 2. From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. From this menu, A. Select the Verify Checksums in Transport Global option to confirm the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME enter XU*8.0*738 NOTE: Using will not bring up a Multi-Package build even if it was loaded immediately before this step. It will only bring up the last patch in the build. B. Select the Backup a Transport Global option to create a backup message. For each patch you can specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routines. The backup message can be used to restore just the routines or everything that will restore your system to pre-patch condition. C. You may also elect to use the following options: i. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. ii. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all of the components of this patch, such as routines, DDs, templates, etc. D. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. i.
