The installation of this patch is controlled by NVS. Please check the schedule, later in this description, to see when your site is scheduled to migrate to VSS. At that time, NVS will send you the real copy of this patch. Companion patches, ABSV*4.0*31 and ABSV*4.0*33, contains the other components necessary to migrate from VTK to VSS. PATCH DEPENDENCIES: ABSV*4.0*31 ABSV*4.0*33 No NOISs or E3Rs are addressed by this patch. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ========================= This patch should take less than 1 minute to load. - No existing data is changed during patch installation. - No options need to be disabled. - No routines are in this patch, nothing is mapped. - Users can be on the system when this patch loads. 1. Use the 'INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE' option on the PackMan menu. This option will load the KIDS package onto your system. 2. From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System (KIDS) menu, you may elect to use the following options: a. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - this option will allow you to ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. b. Print Transport Global - this option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. c. Backup a Transport Global - this options doesn't need to be run because their is no routines in this patch. d. Compare Transport Global to Current System - this options doesn't need to be run because all components in this patch are new. 3. Use the Install Package(s) option and select the package ABSV*4.0*32. 4. When prompted 'Want KIDS to Rebuild Menu Trees Upon Completion of Install? YES//', respond NO. 5. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the Install? YES//', respond NO. 6. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? YES//', respond NO. Voluntary Service Staff Instructions for Patch ABSV*4*32 SENDING DATA: After you have had the opportunity to correct all erroneous entries, SI will provide you with instructions to obtain patch #32 that installs the Send option on your system. When SI tells you that the new system is prepared to accept your data, you can proceed to send it. Only one PERSON per Database should be given the ABSV MIGRATION security key to run this option. IF YOU ARE MIGRATING YOUR PRODUCTION DATA, THEN YOU SHOULD PUT ALL VTK INPUT OPTIONS OUT OF SERVICE BEFORE RUNNING THIS OPTION. DO NOT RUN THIS OPTION UNTIL DIRECTED BY SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION. Since the sending of your data to the new system ends the use of your VistA VTK application for data entry, all VTK options other than those for reports must be put Out Of Service before beginning the migration. Your IRM is provided with those instructions. Also, the Volunteer's use of the auto login to record their hours must be stopped. Do you want to proceed? YES SI will provide you with the e-mail addresses to which to send the migrated data. This will not be the same address used for the preparatory data. You may also be advised to send it to a local mail recipient for possible troubleshooting. In the following example, John Smith is the user. Since this data contains sensitive information about the volunteers, do not send it to any other recipients.
