This is necessary because the data source for some of these items in question have migrated from manual coder entries done in PTF to derivations of the data from other sources such as the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9) code entries. Health Data and Informatics has plans to release a revised Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Handbook on Patient Treatment File Coding Instructions. The revised policy will require corresponding changes in the VistA PTF software package. The following modifications are implemented in this patch, DG*5.3*729: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Product functional features include the following: ------------------------------------------------------ A. Add Twelve New Treating Specialty Codes Twelve new treating specialty codes shall be added to the Specialty File (#42.4) & to the Facility Treating Specialty File (#45.7) effective 10/1/2007.
