Adds NDC codes with an 'S' prefix (supply item numbers or UPC's) to the Pharmacy Extracts Incomplete Feeder Key Report (ECX PHA FKEY). 2. Changes the Data Type of the YEAR MONTH field (#1) in the CLINIC EXTRACT file (#727.827) from Numeric to Free Text. 3. Modifies the Surgery (SUR) Extract Audit option to identify inactive Surgery divisions in the division selection list. 4. Updates DSS documentation to recommend journaling of the ^ECX global. Harrison, MT Anchorage, AK Fayetteville, AR Little Rock, AR Oklahoma City, OK NOIS OVERVIEW: ============== 1. FAV-0803-71894 MATCH SUPPLY & Problem ------- Several sites are reporting a problem with DSS Pharmacy Extracts(PRE,IVP,and UDP) Feeder Keys containing an 'S' as the first character of the NDC code portion of the key. NDC's containing the 'S' are not true NDC codes and cannot be resolved in the Eclipsys database. Resolution ---------- In the DA package, drugs that have no matching NDC get the UPC code stuffed into the NDC field prefixed with an 'S'. Also, items sent as supply items from the primary vendor are prefixed with an 'S'. The DSS Pharmacy Extracts Incomplete Feeder Key Report (ECX PHA FKEY) has been modified to include Feeder Keys that contain an NDC that starts with an 'S'. This report used by DSS staff to identify NDC codes and/or VA Product Name Entry that need to be resolved before Pharmacy Extracts are run in VistA. 2. BHH-0602-42537 change the year month data type in file 727.827 to free text Problem ------- The Data Type(Numeric) of the YEAR MONTH field(#1) in the Clinic Extract file (#727.827) is inconsistent with Data Type (Free Text) for this field in all other DSS Extract files. This causes problems when sorting on this field using Fileman. Resolution ---------- The Data Type has been changed to Free Text. Input and output transforms were also added to this field to make it consistent with other Extract files. Seethe DATA DICTIONARY section of this patch description for details. 3. ANC-1203-52423 Extract Audit Reports Problem ------- The Surgery (SUR) Extract Audit option (ECX SUR SOURCE AUDIT) allows for the selection of all Surgery divisions, including those that are inactive. Resolution ---------- The Surgery division selection list has been modified to display "**INACTIVE**" next to divisions that are inactive in the SURGERY SITE PARAMETERS file(#133). These divisions will not be screened out when selecting all divisions at the prompt since a division that is inactive at the time the audit is run may have been active during the period for which Surgery Extract data is being audited. This affects both the Surgery Extract Audit option (ECX SUR SOURCE AUDIT) and the SAS Surgery Audit Report (ECX SAS SURGERY). 4. ISL-0602-52882 Journaling of ECX Problem ------- The DSS documentation does not contain instructions for journaling the ^ECX global. There are two files, the IV EXTRACT DATA file (#728.113) and the UNIT DOSE EXTRACT DATA file (#728.904), that could not be restored in the event of system crash. Resolution ---------- The DSS Extracts Installation Guide has been updated with a recommendation to journal the ^ECX global to provide a means of reconstructing these two files in the event of a system crash or other event that would necessitate the reconstruction of the ^ECX global.
