Results of the extract are placed into a host file that is sent via Exchange mail to Ken Korba and Phyllis Widemon. The name of the file is prefixed by the station number identifying the source of the information. Please review the Post Installation section for the patch description. Export the data from EQUIPMENT INV. (#6914) file using FileMan's EXPORT DATA option. 2. Use the following export template: EN RESEARCH EXTRACT 3a. Perform a SEARCH on entries to be exported by answering YES to the following question: "Do you want to SEARCH for entries to be exported?" 3b. Use the following field for the search: $E(CMR,1,2) 4. Use the following DEVICE to send the results: HFS HFS = (H)ost (F)ile (S)erver 5. Type the following when prompted for DEVICE: HFS;0;99999 a. HFS is the device name b. 0 is the right margin c. 99999 is the number of lines. (Please type exactly) 6. Create an extract file. The system uses TMP.DAT for the Host File Server. For the extract, use the following file name. The file name will consist of 3 parts. They are "station number", the text "AEMSMERS", and the date. a. Station number => 442 b. The text "AEMSMERS" c. Date format => MMDDYY => 123005 (Dec 30, 2005) Example: 442_AEMSMERS_123005 Note: The example joins all 3 parts with an underscore. 7. Enter the file name for the following prompt: a. Prompt => HOST FILE NAME: USER$:[TEMP]TMP.DAT// b. Example => USER$:[TEMP]TMP.DAT//442_AEMSMERS_123005.TXT Note: The example 'b' uses the TXT file type. 8. Move the file from the VistA server to a PC using FTP. Please use ASCII mode. 9. Email the file to Ken Korba and Phyllis Widemon.
