Subject: CSA PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENTS

Description:
============

 This patch addresses a problem that many sites have with their CSA 
 screens - Claims Status Awaiting Resolution.  It takes a very long time 
 to compile at many sites.  This patch will permanently fix this problem 
 and the CSA screen should compile very fast.
  
 EDI status messages are stored in the IB BILL STATUS MESSAGE file (file
 #361).  Many sites have tens of thousands of informational, unreviewed
 status messages or informational, reviewed status messages with no final
 review information.  These messages can never get purged because they lack
 this final review data.  This patch attempts to add final review data if
 the messages are identified as Auto-file with no review types of messages.
  
 The following 4 message text entries are being added to the IB MESSAGE 
 SCREEN TEXT file (file #361.3) to Auto-file more status messages with no 
 review needed.
  
    ACK/ACCEPTANCE HAS BEEN ACCEPT
    CLAIM RECEIVED
    COMPLETED: PAYMENT MADE
    FINALIZED-PAYMENT: PAYMENT REF
  
 A new index file is created in the IB BILL STATUS MESSAGE file (file 
 #361).  The ACSA index is created (Index by Message Severity and Review 
 Status).
  
 In order to ensure that these status messages get purged at regular 
 intervals, there is an IB site parameter called "Days To Wait To Purge 
 Msgs" in Set 15 of the IB site parameter screen.  If there is no value in
 this field, then this patch will set the parameter value to be 90 days.

 If installed during the normal workday, it is recommended that the
 following menu be disabled prior to the start of the installation:
  
       EDI Return Message Management   [IBCE 837 EDI REPORTS]
  
  
 Install Time - Up to 90 minutes depending on how many status messages 
                exist in the IB BILL STATUS MESSAGE file (file #361).
  
                Our test sites reported the following install times:
  
                Indianapolis:  12 minutes
                Montana:  30 minutes
                Northern Indiana:  66 minutes
                Chillicothe:  8 minutes
  
  
 1. LOAD TRANSPORT GLOBAL
    ---------------------
    Choose the PackMan message containing this patch and invoke the
    INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option.
  
 2. DISABLE ROUTINE MAPPING (DSM for Open VMS sites only)
    -----------------------
    Disable routine mapping on all systems for the routines listed in 
    Step 3 below.
  
    NOTE: If the routines included in this patch are not currently in 
    your mapped routine set, please skip this step.

 5. SELECT INSTALLATION OPTION

          enter IB*2.0*283):
  
    a. Backup a Transport Global - This option will create a backup message
       of any routines exported with this patch. It will not backup any
       other changes such as DD's or templates.
    b. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow
       you to view all changes that will be made when the patch is 
       installed. It compares all components of this patch (routines, DD's,
       templates, etc.).
    c. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - This option will allow you to
       ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport 
       global.
  
 6. INSTALL KIDS BUILD
    ------------------
    a. Choose the Install Package(s) option of the Installation menu to
       start the patch install.
    b. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? 
       YES//', answer NO.
    c. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options and Menu Options?
       YES//', take the default (YES).
    d. When prompted "Enter options you wish to mark as 'Out of Order':",
       enter the following options:
  
       EDI Return Message Management   [IBCE 837 EDI REPORTS]
  
    e. When prompted 'Enter protocols you wish to mark as 'Out Of Order':',
       press <return>.
  
 7. REBUILD MAPPED ROUTINES (DSM for Open VMS sites only)
    -----------------------
    Optional - Include the routines distributed with this patch
    in the mapped routine set.
  
    NOTE: This step is only necessary if you performed step 2 or
          if you wish to include the routines in your mapped set.
  
 8. DELETE POST INSTALLATION ROUTINE (Optional)
    --------------------------------
    You may delete post installation routine IBY283PO after a successful 
    install.
