This has been fixed. 5) SOFT TISSUE SARCOMA STAGING ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis If a patient with a 5th edition SOFT TISSUE SARCOMA was classified as "N1, M1", the STAGE GROUPING was being incorrectly computed as 99 (Unknown). 5th edition SOFT TISSUE SARCOMAS with an N1, M1 classification will now have a computed STAGE GROUPING of IV. 6) LYMPH NODES (#165.5,31) STUFFING ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis For HODGKIN'S AND NON-HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA cases and for primaries with a SITE/GP (#165.5,.01) of LYMPH NODES, the LYMPH NODES (#165.5,31) field was being stuffed with 9 (Unknown). This stuffing has been removed. 7) INCORRECT PROMPTS ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... AI Complete Abstract EDIT/ADD primary for this patient: Edit// The "EDIT/ADD primary for this patient: Edit//" prompt is produce by a call to the FileMan routine DIR with a prompt of "EDIT/ADD primary for this patient" and a default of "Edit". Subsequent DIR calls were retaining this prompt and default resulting in incorrect prompts. This has been fixed. 8) TREATMENT (#165.5,43) The output for the computed field TREATMENT was including the ATF (at this facility) treatments. e.g. XRT/SUR/SURATF/XRTATF The ATF treatments have been removed. 9) GESTATIONAL TROPHOBLASTIC TUMORS The Amercian Joint Commission on Cancer (AJCC) has issued an update to chapter 32 (Gestational Trophoblastic Tumors) of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual 5th edition. The primary site is now PLACENTA C58.9. 10) INAPPROPRIATE PATHOLOGIC N (#165.5,86) STUFFING ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis For 5th edition LUNG primaries, if the LYMPH NODES (#165.5,31) value was 6 (Hilar, supraclavicular, scalene, cervical), the PATHOLOGIC N (#165.5,86) value was being stuffed with "N3 Contralateral mediastinal/hilar/scalene/supr". This was inappropriate and has been fixed. 11) DX FACILITY (#165.5,5), REFERRING FACILITY (#165.5,6) and TRANSFER FACILITY (#165.5,7) stuffing ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 2. Cancer Identification The "stuffing" logic for the above fields has been replaced by "default" logic at the users' request. The "default" logic is as follows: If CLASS OF CASE = 0 (Dx here, 1st rx ew) REFERRING FACILITY will have a default of NONE If CLASS OF CASE = 1 (Dx here & 1st rx here) REFERRING FACILITY and TRANSFER FACILITY will have defaults of NONE If CLASS OF CASE = 2 (Dx ew, 1st rx here) TRANSFER FACILITY will have a default of NONE If CLASS OF CASE = 0 (Dx here, 1st rx ew) = 1 (Dx here & 1st rx here) DX FACILITY will have a default of the REPORTING HOSPITAL value 12) STAGING CORNEA (C69.1) PRIMARIES ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis No stage grouping is presently recommended for CORNEA primaries. Nevertheless, the package was prompting for TNM values. This has been fixed. CORNEA primaries will now be stuffed with the appropriate NA values. 13) REASONS FOR NO TREATMENT ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 4. First Course of Treatment If the user entered a date at the DATE OF NO TREATMENT (#165.5,124) prompt indicating that the patient did not receive any treatment, the following fields would be "stuffed" with the "not recommended" value: #165.5,58 REASON FOR NO SURGERY: Surgery not recommended #165.5,75 REASON FOR NO RADIATION: Radiation not recommended #165.5,76 REASON FOR NO CHEMOTHERAPY: Chemo not recommended #165.5,77 REASON FOR NO HORMONE THERAPY: HT not recommended The users will now be prompted for the REASON FOR NO treatment fields with a default of "not recommended". 14) SIZE OF TUMOR (#165.5,29) ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis As per ROADS (Registry Operations and Data Standards) pages 122-123, descriptions for SIZE OF TUMOR values 000, 998 and 999 have been added. For all sites: 000 = Not identified 999 = Unknown; not recorded; not available For the following sites the value 998 will have the following descriptions: Site 998 description ---- --------------- Esophagus (C15.0-C15.9) Entire circumference Stomach (C16.0-C16.9) Diffuse; widespread; linitis plastica Colorectal (C18.0-C20.9) Familial/multiple polyposis Lung (C34.0-C34.9) Diffuse, entire lobe of lung Breast (C50.0-C50.9) Diffuse; widespread; inflam carcinoma Also: a) The SIZE OF TUMOR field DESCRIPTION has been shortened. b) The user may now enter values with leading zeroes. c) The output transform appends "mm" to the numeric value. d) SIZE OF TUMOR is no longer a "required" field. 15) SUPPRESSION OF SUBSIDIARY TREATMENT DATA ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... PA Print Complete Abstract (132c) On the CANCER REGISTRY ABSTRACT report, if a particular treatment was not given, the associated treatment fields will no longer be displayed. 16) PACKAGE (9.4) FILE CORRECTIONS NOTE: This problem pertains to IRM personnel only. The problem and resolution are transparent to the ONCOLOGY user. a) The PACKAGE file entry "ONCOLOGY" contains an incorrect PREFIX (9.4,1) value of ONCO. The correct PREFIX value is ONC. b) The PACKAGE file entry "OCOLOGY PATCH ONC*2.11*1" contains PATCH APPLICATION HISTORY (9.4091,.01) data which belongs in the ONCOLOGY entry. Both of these problems have been fixed. 17) EXTENSION (165.5,30) PATHOLOGIC EXTENSION (165.5,30.1) ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis a) The EXTENSION list for SEER EOD-88 3rd edition prostate primaries contained an incorrect code of 99 for "Unknown if extension or meta- stasis". The correct code is 90. This has been fixed. b) When displaying the PATHOLOGIC EXTENSION value for SEER EOD-88 3rd edition prostate primaries, the program was using the wrong list to resolve the PATHOLOGIC EXTENSION code. It was using the PROSTATE GLAND--CLINICAL (3rd edition) list. It should use the PROSTATE GLAND --PATHOLOGIC (3rd edition) list. This has been fixed. 18) NUMBER OF NODES REMOVED (165.5,140) ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EX Print Abstract-Extended (80c) PA Print Complete Abstract (132c) When displaying the NUMBER OF NODES REMOVED value, the package was resolving the null values (blank values) and "0" values identically. In both cases it was resolving these values as "No nodes removed". This was inappropriate for null values. Null values do not require resolution. This has been fixed. 19) UTL *..Utility Options ... ES Edit Surgery Codes The "ES Edit Surgery Codes" has been removed from the "UTL *..Utility Options ..." menu. It is no longer needed. 20) TYPE OF REPORTING SOURCE (165.5,1.2) ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... EE Abstract Edit Primary 1. Patient Identification Codes 2 (Clinic) and 9 (Unknown) are not valid ROADS codes. These codes have been removed from the selection list and any primaries which contain these codes will have these values deleted. 21) TOBACCO HISTORY (160,38) ALCOHOL HISTORY (160,39) ABS *..Abstracting/Printing ... AI Complete Abstract For patients accessed in 1999 or later the TOBACCO HISTORY and ALCOHOL HISTORY dialogs have been changed. For these patients the TOBACCO HISTORY and ALCOHOL HISTORY choices will now correspond to the ROADS coding conventions (See ROADS pages 86-87) and will no longer be Y (Yes), N (No) or U (Unknown). Pre-1999 patients will retain the Y, N or U choices. Pre-1999 dialog: ---------------- TOBACCO HISTORY: ? Choose from: Y Yes N No U Unknown TOBACCO HISTORY: Yes Select TYPE OF TOBACCO USER: ? EE Abstract Edit Primary 3. Stage of Disease at Diagnosis Renal Pelvis and Ureter sites were not automatically staging correctly. e.g. The TNM combination of Ta N0 M0 was staging as A. The correct stage grouping is 0a. Also, Larynx sites with a stage grouping of IVC were displaying as 4C and Testis sites with a stage grouping of IS were displaying as 1S. All of these problems have been fixed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Routine Summary: ================ The following routines are included in this patch.
