Description:
============

  NOTE: The functionality in this patch supports the Department of
  Defense (DOD) Clinical Health Data Repository (CHDR) project.
  This patch must be installed at all facilities before updates
  to the Health Level Seven (HL7) ADT-A24 and ADT-A43 messaging
  can occur for CHDR on the Master Patient Index (MPI).
  INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT: From the date of release, RG*1*42
  has a 7-day installation compliance date.
   
  NOTE:  MPIF and RG patches should NOT be installed on legacy systems
  to avoid issues with the legacy systems ending up as Coordinating
  Master of Records (CMORs) or Treating Facilities.
   
  RG*1.0*6 and RG*1.0*27 are required builds for patch RG*1*42.
   
  Message format changes.
  In preparation for updating the Master Patient Index (MPI) Health
  Level Seven (HL7) maintenance messaging, routine changes have been
  made.  A variable has now been added to routine RGADTP1 that is needed
  by the ADT-A24 messaging.  A change in RGDRM02 turns off the erroneous
  generation of an outbound MFN-M05 treating facility update message that
  previously occurred during the processing of a duplicate record merge
  at the local facility.  These are technical modifications to address
  issues related to the identification of local records with the local
  identifier if passed.  These changes will not affect users of the
  VistA system.

  Installation Instructions:
  ==========================
  This patch takes less than 2 minutes to install.  This patch should
  be loaded during non-peak hours to minimize disruption to the users.
   
  1.  Users are allowed on the system during patch installation.
    
  2.  Confirm that there are no actively running duplicate record
      merge processes underway or scheduled to run via the Duplicate
      Resolution System [XDR MAIN MENU] options during the installation
      of this patch.
     
  3.  Using the TaskMan option Schedule/Unschedule Options [XUTM SCHEDULE],
      unschedule the following option:
        VAFC BATCH UPDATE          UPDATE BATCH JOB FOR HL7 v2.3
    
  4.  On the Filer and Link Management Options [HL MENU FILER LINK MGT]
      menu, select the Monitor, Start, Stop Filers [HL FILER MONITOR]
      option.  At that menu level, choose the action "Stop incoming 
      filer" to stop each incoming filer that is running.
   
  5.  Use the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE option on the PackMan menu. 
      Note:  TEXT PRINT/DISPLAY option in the PackMan menu will display
      the patch text only.
   
  6.  None of the routines in this package have been recommended for
      routine mapping.
   
  7.  From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select
      the Installation menu.
   
  8.  From this menu, you may elect to use the following options:
      (a)  Backup a Transport Global.
      (b)  Compare Transport Global to Current System.
      (c)  Verify Checksums in Transport Global.
      (d)  Print Transport Global.
   
  9.  Use the Install Package(s) option and select the package RG*1.0*42.
    
  10. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? '
      YES//', respond NO.
    
  11. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and
      Protocols? YES//', respond NO.
   
  12. On the Filer and Link Management Options [HL MENU FILER LINK MGT]
      menu, select the Monitor, Start, Stop Filers [HL FILER MONITOR]
      option.  At that menu level, choose the action "Start incoming
      filer" to start the default number of incoming filers.
   
  13. Using the TaskMan option Schedule/Unschedule Options [XUTM SCHEDULE],
      schedule the option VAFC BATCH UPDATE [UPDATE BATCH JOB FOR HL7 v2.3]
      to run every 10 minutes.
