$TXT Created by LUNDEN,JOHN at MNTVBB.FO-ALBANY.MED.VA.GOV (KIDS) on Wednesday, 01/12/05 at 16:33 ============================================================================= Run Date: FEB 22, 2005 Designation: SD*5.3*356 Package : SD - SCHEDULING Priority: Mandatory Version : 5.3 SEQ #324 Status: Released Compliance Date: MAR 23, 2005 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)SD*5.3*80 <<= must be installed BEFORE `SD*5.3*356' (v)SD*5.3*140 <<= must be installed BEFORE `SD*5.3*356' (v)SD*5.3*168 <<= must be installed BEFORE `SD*5.3*356' Subject: PRE-APPOINTMENT LETTER DATES AND CANCEL LETTER PROBLEM Category: - Routine Description: ============ This patch addresses 2 problems: 1) When printing pre-appointment letters the date prompts should assume a future date if no year is entered. 2) If an appointment is cancelled due to scheduling a different appointment at the same date/time a cancellation letter is not printed. This patch adds a cancellation letter prompt in this situation. NOTE: The prompt for the letter print is not displayed if the new appointment is for the same clinic. ASSOCIATED NOIS: ================ POR-1202-52209 - Pre-Appointment letters not showing the correct year MON-0404-50903 - SCHEDULING PROBLEM AND PRINTED PATIENT LETTERS ASSOCIATED E3R(s): ================== N/A PARTICIPATING TEST SITES: ========================= Central Alabama HCS Cheyenne,WY Montana HCS Portland,OR NOIS OVERVIEW: ============== POR-1202-52209 Pre-Appointment letters not showing the correct year Problem: -------- The date prompt in the Pre-appointment letters does not assume a future date. Resolution: ----------- Add the Future flag to the FileMan date utility parameter list. Any date entered without a year will be assumed to be in the following year IF that date is passed for the current year. MON-0404-50903 - SCHEDULING PROBLEM AND PRINTED PATIENT LETTERS Problem: ------- If the user tries to schedule a Vets appointment for a date/time in which the Vet already has an appointment, the routine will ask if they want to cancel the original appointment. If they say "Yes",then the routine cancels the original and schedules the new appointment. There is now no record of the original appointment and therefore no cancellation letter. Occassionally the Vet will come into the hospital/clinic for the cancelled appointment with his appointment letter in hand - even though that appointment no longer exists. Resolution: ---------- If the user hits the above scenario they will be asked if they want to print a cancellation letter right then. It will be their only chance. If they say "Yes" the routine prints the letter and continues on with the appointment changes. ROUTINE SUMMARY: ================ The following is a list of the routine(s) included in this patch.
